About
At our Performing Arts School, we offer a rich curriculum in singing, theatre, and dance, with classes tailored to the unique needs of each student. Our theatre program covers genres such as comedy, drama, pantomime, and musical theatre, guiding students toward performances in plays, musicals, and vocal showcases. We incorporate theatre games that build confidence, improvisational abilities, and imagination to enhance creativity and performance skills. Through communication exercises and team-building activities, students develop essential collaborative skills, preparing them for the stage and beyond. In dance, we emphasise expressive movement and storytelling through company dance numbers, allowing students to explore body language and experiment with creative motion. Our personalised approach helps students strengthen their skills, overcome challenges, and ignite a true passion for the performing arts.
Our People
Pop in Performers is lead by Poppy,
who's passion for theatre and the arts began at a young age, performing alongside her grandfather in local productions where she honed her skills in singing, dancing, and acting. She pursued her love for the performing arts through her studies in Music Production and Performance, as well as Musical Theatre, before relocating to Cardiff. There, she earned her BSc in Popular Music Technology, specialising in vocal improvisation.
Throughout her academic journey, Poppy actively participated in musicals and plays and performed with both covers and original bands. After completing her PGCE in Secondary Music at Birmingham City University, she has taken on many different roles including Head of Music and Drama, ultimately becoming an experienced Performing Arts teacher in Droitwich.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Poppy leads a young people’s string group and a children’s choir, having previously collaborated with Choral Diversity in Hereford. With over 10 years of experience working with young performers, she has successfully organised numerous productions, including plays, concerts, variety shows, and full-scale musicals. Notable productions include Peter Pan, Les Misérables, The Addams Family, Pantastic, and her own scripted adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, which featured over 90 young performers on stage and behind the scenes.
Outside of teaching, Poppy regularly directs and performs on stage at the Swan Theatre, Malvern Coach House Theatre, and Norbury Theatre in Droitwich. In July 2024, she successfully relaunched Children's Theatre for STAC in collaboration with The Coach House Theatre, featuring a captivating performance of The Lion That Lost Its Roar by Carolyn Young. Poppy adores being on stage, with some of her favourite roles including Connie in The Effect, Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes, and Rosie in Dancing at Lughnasa. Having spent the past six years at Stage Coach Hereford, Poppy is excited to share her expertise and nurture the next generation of talent in the Malvern area.
